Before Choosing a Trading Platform, Verify These Items First
The platform name, contracting entity, regulatory registration, and contact details should correspond item by item. Keeping a record of the verification process is more valuable than only looking at promotional pages.
First Confirm Who You Are Contracting With
The same brand may correspond to companies in different regions. During verification, first find the full name of the actual contracting company in the account opening agreement, then record its registered address, public website, and the regulatory number it claims to hold. Do not treat the brand name directly as the contracting entity.
Start with the Regulator's Official Website
If a platform claims to be regulated in a certain place, you should verify the company name, current status, and business scope through that regulator's official inquiry channel. Also check whether the website and phone number in the inquiry record match the platform you are dealing with.
Taking the UK FCA's official explanation as an example, clone firms may copy the name or registration information of a real company. Therefore, finding a number is only the beginning of verification; contact details also need to be compared. Other jurisdictions should use their own official channels, and UK registration cannot be used to infer protection for accounts in other regions.
Read the Account Terms Clearly
Record the entity to which the account belongs, applicable terms, deposit and withdrawal rules, fee explanations, and complaint channels. For terms that are unclear, ask the platform to provide a written explanation. Oral answers from customer service can serve as clues, but should not replace the formal agreement.
Date Every Verification
Save the official inquiry address, verification date, and corresponding screenshots. Information may change, and historical inquiry results cannot directly represent the current situation. Before making a judgment about a specific platform, independent verification still needs to be completed.
