On Saturday evening, the major gold trading markets remain in their weekend closure phase, and there is no "tonight's close" that needs to be pretended to track. This morning's weekly review already recorded Kitco's last available Friday quote; this article does not repeat a static price curve, but instead puts next week's published official schedule, the data that must be rechecked before the open, and two scenarios that would overturn the original judgment into the same checklist. All future events are only schedule items, not market moves that have already occurred.

What the last available price is, and what it is not

The last available quote on Kitco's spot gold page is marked 21:01 EDT New York, October 23, corresponding to 09:01 Beijing time on October 24, with a bid of 3994.90 and an ask of 3996.90 USD per troy ounce; its quote-day range is 3975.10 to 4040.20. It can describe an informational quote from the Friday closing phase; it cannot be called a real-time traded price at 21:00 on Saturday, and even less can it replace the XAUUSD opening bid/ask price from your own broker on Monday. Different trading platforms may differ in opening times, spreads, and overnight or weekend handling.

Friday's saved 09:59 bid of 3991.10, 20:59 bid of 4024.30, and the last available 3994.90 show that the same source went through an obvious round trip at several points in time. Three discrete points cannot reconstruct the full intraday execution sequence, nor can they automatically prove that Monday will continue in either direction. The higher-price candidate zone left by Thursday's strategy is no longer suitable for unconditional use; next week, the structure needs to be rebuilt using completed cycles after the new open.

Next week's official schedule first

The Federal Reserve Board website lists the Federal Open Market Committee meeting on October 27-28. There is currently no result for this meeting; the rate decision, statement wording, and press conference content cannot be prewritten. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics schedule also lists September metropolitan area employment and unemployment data on October 28 at 10:00 U.S. Eastern Time, and the third-quarter Employment Cost Index on October 30 at 08:30 U.S. Eastern Time. Converted to Beijing time, the former is 22:00 on the 28th and the latter is 20:30 on the 30th; recheck the official pages for any rescheduling and revisions before release.

These schedule items are worth recording not because gold will necessarily move in a certain direction once the data is published, but because around information releases, market liquidity, spreads, and short-term volatility may all differ from calm periods. Even if price changes are observed, first compare the exact time and other simultaneously occurring news; do not treat one headline as the sole cause.

How to avoid being misled by the old framework in the first hour of the open

First, check whether your broker has resumed normal quotes. Convert the platform server time to a unified time zone, and record the Bid, Ask, spread, and the first complete observation cycle. If the open gaps, spreads abnormally widen, or quotes lag, temporarily refrain from writing Friday's high and low as valid order prices. Second, mark Kitco's Friday range of 3975.10 to 4040.20 as a "historical source range," not automatic support and resistance; wait for your own platform to form new swing points, then compare whether there is overlap. Finally, save original screenshots and the time of drawing lines, to avoid moving lines afterward and telling a story after Wednesday's meeting.

Two revocable scenarios

The repair scenario requires a higher low to form after the new open, and in completed cycles to gradually approach or exceed the newly confirmed local high. If there is only an intraday spike and the close returns to the original range, the repair interpretation should be revoked. The weaker scenario requires price to push local highs and lows lower again, and after a breakdown fail to recover quickly; if it then stands back above the lost structural level, the weaker interpretation is likewise downgraded. No precise Monday levels are filled in here in advance, because Friday's last quote cannot verify Monday's opening pattern.

When observing, also distinguish between price structure and event windows: position adjustment before the meeting and the reaction to the official statement after the meeting have different logic. Neither side can use "the market already knew the result" to replace facts. Whether an order is executable is also affected by contract specifications, margin, spreads, and slippage. The value of weekend preparation is to write clearly which evidence would change the judgment; this article does not constitute a definitive trade call and does not guarantee profit. Leveraged trading may cause substantial losses.
