October 11 Gold Next Week Data Plan: From Opening Verification to a Dense Data Week
Organize next week's existing home sales, CPI, retail, and industrial production schedule in Beijing time, distinguish arrangements, actual values, and price reactions, and establish strategy conditions after the open.

Today is Sunday, and the morning brief does not provide fabricated overnight gold gains or losses. This article focuses on pre-open data preparation: how to arrange next week's events into a verifiable timeline, and how to avoid directly interpreting a single data release as a certain gold direction. When there are no new reliable tradable quotes over the weekend, retaining observation questions is more meaningful than repeating old price levels.
First list data needs, do not rush to give direction
Before next week begins, prepare three types of records: quotes from the same source, platform contract information, and an event calendar. Quotes should state the time and bid/ask sides, contracts should verify trading sessions and execution conditions, and the calendar should only record arrangements, not treat them as actual published results.
The gold snapshots previously saved on this site all have corresponding dates. They can be used to compare historical positions, but cannot serve as Sunday real-time tradable quotes, nor can they independently prove a complete weekly trend. This article does not use them to calculate weekly gains or announce a trend reversal.
Check the new environment first at the start of the week
Quotes after the open may differ from last week's reference. First verify whether there are gaps, spread changes, and platform status. Without new data under the same standard, do not mechanically move past observation zones onto new orders. When the original conditions are not met, it is also acceptable to have no clear direction.
The New York Fed official calendar lists existing home sales on October 13 at 10:00 U.S. Eastern Time, corresponding to 22:00 Beijing time. This is demand-related data, but its coverage period and revisions still need to be confirmed after the actual release. Do not treat the calendar title itself as a reason gold must rise or fall.
Midweek inflation: distinguish actual values from market expectations
The same calendar lists CPI on October 14 at 08:30 U.S. Eastern Time, corresponding to 20:30 Beijing time. As of Sunday writing, this result has not yet been published. Before release, save confirmable expectation sources; after release, record the actual value, previous value, and components.
If there is no unified and reliable expectation standard, do not write "significantly exceeded expectations." Headline and core measures, year-on-year and month-on-month, must not be mixed. Different components may have different interpretations. Verify the data first, then discuss policy implications.
Thursday dense releases: break down item by item, avoid mixing causality
On October 15 at 08:30 U.S. Eastern Time, i.e. 20:30 Beijing time, the calendar lists initial jobless claims, retail sales, PPI, and related manufacturing surveys. Business inventories are scheduled at 10:00, corresponding to 22:00. The schedule may be adjusted; verify again before publication.
When multiple data items appear at the same time, it is not appropriate to attribute all of gold's instantaneous reaction to one of them. Save the data and revisions separately, then compare with price changes from the same source. Without synchronized dollar, Treasury yield, and continuous price records, do not claim they have jointly confirmed a certain direction.
Friday data: do not omit time conversion
On October 16 at 08:30 U.S. Eastern Time, import and export prices are scheduled; at 09:15, industrial production and capacity utilization are scheduled, corresponding to 20:30 and 21:15 Beijing time respectively. Nowcast is listed at 12:45, corresponding to 00:45 Beijing time on October 17.
Items crossing midnight should retain the Beijing time date; do not write Saturday 00:45 as Friday evening on the same date. The calendar is a data plan, not a complete event list. New arrangements and adjustments need subsequent confirmation.
Long and short discussion, maintain conditional expression
Bullish research focuses on whether new information reduces concerns about policy tightening, and whether support after a pullback can continue; bearish research focuses on whether price returns to the original observation range when inflation or policy concerns increase. Both require verification with new data, rather than announcing certain results over the weekend.
If news and price reactions are inconsistent, record this difference, and do not forcibly revise the narrative to make it look correct. Specific support, resistance, breakout, and invalidation conditions are left to be established after the open with strategy observation combined with quotes.
Final check before the open
Save the original data and subsequent updates, noting which content has been verified and which is still pending release. Separately verify positions, pending orders, fees, and program status. Market closure and terminal shutdown do not mean order risk has ended.
