October 25 Gold Next-Week Outlook: Check Meetings and Data First, Then Look at Prices

Markets are closed on Sunday; distinguish Friday's last quote from real-time prices; outline next week's Fed meeting, BLS data schedule, and the post-open verification sequence.

Today is Sunday, and the major gold trading markets remain closed for the weekend. This article does not call the figures left on the news webpage from Friday "today's real-time gold price"; instead, it specifically reviews the U.S. official schedule already published for next week, how to verify market reactions, and several price signals that are most easily misread after the open. The website published the weekly review and next-week strategy on Saturday; today's article focuses on "how to prepare before events occur," avoiding repetition of yesterday's market summary.

First, clarify the price cutoff date

The last available snapshot on the Kitco spot gold page is still marked New York, October 23, 21:01 EDT, corresponding to Beijing time October 24, 09:01, with a bid of 3994.90 and an ask of 3996.90 USD per troy ounce; the page shows its Friday quote-day range as 3975.10 to 4040.20. The writing date is October 25, and the price source date is October 23; the two must not be confused. The webpage continuing to display old quotes on Sunday does not mean one's broker's XAUUSD can be traded at the same price at this moment. Different platforms' reopening times, spreads, and first-period liquidity may also differ.

Before next week's open, this set of data should only be placed in the historical reference column. Last Friday, the three snapshots on this site at 09:59, 20:59, and the last available one showed clear back-and-forth movement, but there is no unified complete intraday data, and one should not infer from three points that Monday will necessarily return to a certain price level. In particular, the 4060 to 4090 band from Thursday's old strategy has been overturned by Friday's lower quotes, and an invalidated drawn line cannot be restored to validity just because the market is closed for the weekend.

Next week's official schedule must be checked item by item

The official website of the U.S. Federal Reserve lists the Federal Open Market Committee meeting on October 27-28. As of October 25, it has not yet been held, and this article cannot write the interest rate decision or statement content in advance. Before the meeting, what to watch is market expectations and risk exposure; only after the meeting are there an official statement and press conference to verify. Even if the market moves first, a decision that has not yet occurred cannot be treated as an established cause.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' October 2026 schedule lists: on October 28 at 10:00 U.S. Eastern Time, September metropolitan area employment and unemployment data will be released; on October 30 at 08:30 U.S. Eastern Time, the third-quarter Employment Cost Index will be released. Converted to Beijing time, these are October 28 at 22:00 and October 30 at 20:30, respectively; before release, one should still check again whether the official page has been adjusted. Different data have different coverage and meanings; metropolitan area employment data cannot be directly written as national nonfarm payroll job gains, nor can the Employment Cost Index be used to replace the Consumer Price Index.

Write market hot topics as questions to be verified

The gold market often discusses the interest rate path, the dollar, U.S. Treasury yields, and safe-haven demand at the same time. They may act in the same direction during certain periods, or they may offset each other. If gold prices fluctuate around data or policy news next week, first verify the actual release time of the news, revisions, and prior market expectations, then align them with the quote time on the same platform. Merely seeing a news headline and a gold price change appear at the same time cannot prove a single cause.

A more positive interpretation may emphasize changes in rate expectations, short-term covering, or risk hedging; a more cautious interpretation may emphasize how long high rates will be maintained, a stronger dollar, or the failure of old support. What is listed here are competing research hypotheses, not the results of an institutional positioning survey. Which side better matches subsequent price action must be judged only after the facts and completed candlesticks appear.

After the open, check execution conditions first

On Monday, first confirm on your own platform the server time, Bid and Ask, spread, contract specifications, and tradable status. If there is a gap or abnormal spread at the open, do not write a single touch near Friday's news price as support confirmation. Next, fix the observation timeframe and record the high and low of the first completed candlestick, comparing whether they fall within Friday's source range. If a new higher low forms, observe the recovery scenario; if lows continue to be pressed lower, watch the weaker scenario. The invalidation conditions for both should be written down before the outcome occurs.

Before and after the data windows on Wednesday and Friday, re-check spreads and order risk. Stop-loss trigger prices may not equal actual execution prices, and leveraged losses may also be larger than static estimates. This article is a Sunday event outlook; it does not provide Sunday real-time price levels and does not constitute definitive trade calls or profit guarantees.

Risk notice: leveraged trading can cause substantial losses. Content is for research and education, with no return guarantees. Past performance does not predict future results.
