Today, first lay out the price basis used for observation. The Kitco gold spot page shows that at 21:20 New York time on October 26 and 09:20 Beijing time on October 27, the bid was 4008.40 and the ask was 4010.40 USD/oz; the page lists the day's low at 3977.90 and high at 4030.60 USD/oz. The price note also says "as of 21:19 EDT," a one-minute difference from the other time; this article uses 21:20 at the top of the page as the snapshot display time and does not present it as the 09:30 live price. Kitco is a public spot reference quote and is not equal to any broker's XAUUSD Bid, Ask, or executable price. If readers use MT4 or another trading platform, they must first verify that platform's server time zone, contract, and spread, and must not copy the values below to place orders.

Where are the two ends, and what is the basis?

On the upside, first observe 4026.50–4030.60 USD/oz: the former comes from the Kitco intraday high recorded on this site at 20:44 yesterday, and the latter is the extended daily high shown on the 09:20 page this time. This is a historical high band formed by two snapshots from the same public source; it has a data basis but does not automatically become today's resistance. If a higher value appears when the page is refreshed later, this band must also be updated. On the downside, the verifiable anchor is the prior-day low of 3977.90 USD/oz listed on this page; at present there are not enough adjacent lows from the same platform and the same time window to expand it into a precise support zone. Therefore, on the downside, only the area near 3977.90 is called the "prior-low observation area," and its boundaries must be determined by the actual volatility and spread on one's own platform. The 4000 USD round number easily attracts attention, but it cannot be called verified support merely because the number is round.

The current position is roughly between the aforementioned high and low. To judge which end will be tested first, one can first draw the hourly candlestick range already completed during today's Asian session, and then compare whether the price is gradually raising lows or lowering highs. At 09:30, the new Asian hourly range may still change; an unfinished candlestick should not be used to declare a valid breakout. The observation band is a historical reference, not an automatic order level, and Kitco spot highs and lows must not be mixed with those in a broker's chart.

Scenario 1: Upside breakout of the high band

If a reader's own XAUUSD platform, under normal spreads, shows a completed candlestick crossing above the corresponding platform's prior-day high band, then a retest still holding above the band, and subsequent lows gradually rising, the upside breakout can be listed as a candidate scenario. It is more valuable to observe whether the price gains sustained trading outside the band, rather than looking only at a momentary wick. If the price quickly returns to the original range and forms a lower high, or if the breakout appears only during abnormal spreads and brief price jumps, this scenario is invalidated. After invalidation, the judgment should be withdrawn; one must not keep moving the high to preserve the claim that a "breakout" occurred.

Scenario 2: Failed rally and pullback or test of the prior low

If the price approaches the upper historical high band but repeatedly fails to hold, and then falls back inside the range already confirmed during today's Asian session, observe whether the pullback gradually forms lower highs; if it continues toward yesterday's low, then see whether a genuine stabilization structure appears near the historical reference of 3977.90. A brief probe lower does not equal a confirmed breakdown, especially when checking the Bid chart, Ask traded prices, and widening spreads. If the price breaks above the upper band again and maintains higher lows, the weaker interpretation is invalidated; if the prior low is effectively broken and the price remains below it, the original assumption that "the prior low can hold" is also invalidated.

Execution boundaries during FOMC week

The Federal Reserve's official calendar schedules a policy meeting in the United States on October 27–28 local time, and the decision has not yet been announced. Around the meeting, the dollar, Treasury yields, and gold may influence one another, but no single variable can guarantee a same-direction signal. Today, divide the observation record into four columns: quote time, price structure, news time, and spread; after news appears, recheck the facts and do not write the outcome in advance. This article is a scenario framework based on public snapshots as of 09:20; if the market changes significantly, the update time and new quotes should be noted in the same article, and a separate same-day strategy should not be published. Any trade must be decided according to one's own platform costs and tolerable risk; this article does not promise returns.
