October 15 Gold Strategy Observation: Repair Pending Confirmation, Testing Both Ends of the Range
Based on the Kitco snapshot at 09:22 Beijing time, observe the candidate edges at 4170–4175 and 4070–4075, and clearly list the breakout, pullback, and invalidation conditions.
Reissue note: This article is the morning observation for October 15, 2026, delayed due to a translation service anomaly. The quotes and scenarios correspond only to the morning time indicated in the text and do not represent the immediate market conditions at the time of reissue; market conditions must be rechecked before use.

This morning's gold quote rebounded from last night's low record, but this cannot be taken as evidence that the data shock has ended. Today, treat the upper and lower ends of the source range as areas pending verification, and observe upward breakout and pullback separately, without treating any area directly as a confirmed entry signal. After tonight's PPI release, new information will need to be used for rechecking.
Market Basis and Time
The price time in the body of the Kitco spot gold page is 21:22 EDT on October 14 in New York, which is 09:22 Beijing time on October 15. Bid 4148.10, ask 4150.10 USD per troy ounce, page range 4072.70–4171.10. The top shows 21:23; this article follows the body price time and does not mix them as the same minute.
This is the Kitco reference spot basis, not the tradable price of XAUUSD on every platform. The page range also does not equal the complete Beijing calendar-day range; there is no complete tick-by-tick data this time, so the full sequence of movement within the range is not inferred.
How the Areas Were Derived and How Strong the Basis Is
Take the area near the page high of 4171.10 as the upper-end candidate area of 4170–4175, and the area near the low of 4072.70 as the lower-end candidate area of 4070–4075. This is only an observation band set around the edges of the source range; the width is a research choice, not a precise boundary naturally formed by the market.
This time it has not been verified that these positions have multiple retests or volume clusters, so they cannot be called already-validated strong support or strong resistance. The old 4145–4150 area can serve as a reference from previous research, but returning near it this morning does not automatically prove that the recovery has succeeded.
Upward Breakout Scenario: Can It Hold After Crossing
If subsequent same-basis prices advance to near 4170–4175, first observe whether it is only a brief crossing, then check whether it can hold above according to a predetermined period. This article does not treat a single quote tick as a valid breakout, nor does it fabricate a completed retest.
If after crossing it falls back into the area or below and cannot recover, then the upward continuation assumption should no longer be used. If price never reaches the upper end, then the breakout scenario cannot be declared triggered. Higher targets lack verified structural basis, and this article does not invent them.
Pullback Scenario: Repair Pressure and Lower-End Test
If this morning's rebound cannot hold and price moves back toward the lower end of the source, the focus of observation shifts to whether recordable support appears near 4070–4075. Reaching the area does not mean a rebound is inevitable; if it remains below, the original lower-end support assumption is invalidated.
If the lower end is not reached, or the downward move stops and forms a sustained recovery, the interpretation of pullback continuation also needs to be updated. Both paths are conditional scenarios, not simultaneous confirmed long and short orders, and certainly not a requirement that price must travel through the entire range.
Around Tonight's Data, the Old Areas May Lose Meaning
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics calendar states that September PPI is scheduled for release at 08:30 U.S. Eastern Time on October 15, corresponding to 20:30 Beijing time tonight. At the time of writing, the result has not yet occurred; this article does not fill in forecast values as if they were actual, nor does it assert price direction in advance.
The data may change the source range, volatility, and trading costs. After release, first check whether the new quote time and the upper and lower ends have updated, then decide whether to continue using these candidate areas; the range must not be continuously expanded just to preserve old judgments.
Record Invalidation, Distinguish Research From Execution
Research records should include source, bid/ask side, period, basis for the area, trigger status, and invalidation time. If conditions change, update the original text and note the time, and do not pass off the revised view as the original morning judgment.
Observation conditions are not platform-guaranteed stop-losses. Actual execution is also affected by spreads, gaps, and order rules, and the risk amount cannot be determined solely by the width of the range on the chart. This article is for market research and education, does not constitute a confirmed call, leveraged trading may cause significant losses, and no profit is promised.
