October 13 Gold Strategy Observation: Lower-End Support at 4150–4155 and Invalidation Conditions

Based on the 09:25 spot snapshot, observe lower-end support and continuation below the range, distinguishing historical reference recovery from a valid breakout.

Early morning gold snapshot is near the lower end of the range shown on the source page. Today, first study whether support appears at the lower end and whether the pullback continues through the range, rather than directly writing proximity to the low as a buying opportunity. All zones are sourced levels pending verification, not guaranteed to be valid, and do not constitute definitive trade calls.

Quote Basis: 09:25 Beijing Time

Kitco marks New York October 12 21:25 EDT, which is Beijing time October 13 09:25; spot gold bid 4155.30, ask 4157.30 USD/oz, displayed range 4153.50–4218.10. Compared with the 09:02 morning report bid of 4160.50, the bid is 5.20 USD lower; the two time points cannot replace the full price path.

This material is Kitco spot basis, not the tradable price of XAUUSD on all platforms. Platform spreads, bid/ask sides, and server time need separate verification; do not directly treat highs and lows from other sources as your own order conditions.

Zone Basis: Lower End First, Old Levels as Reference

The lower end is first observed at 4150–4155, based on the range near the displayed low of 4153.50; the upper end 4215–4220 still corresponds to the area near the high of 4218.10. This article has no continuous chart proving these levels have repeatedly formed support/resistance, so they are only verification zones.

Yesterday's 4180–4185 historical reference is above the current price and can be used to observe whether the original level is recovered, but it cannot automatically be assumed to necessarily turn into resistance. As data changes, old ranges should be re-evaluated, not mechanically carried over.

Scenario One: Lower-End Support and Recovery

If prices from the same source form sustained support near 4150–4155 and subsequently recover the previously lost level, then study whether the rebound continues. First fix the timeframe and confirmation method, keep subsequent records, and do not treat a single wick or instant rebound as a confirmed bottom.

The invalidation condition for this scenario is: sustained break through the lower end, subsequent retest cannot recover above it, and lows continue to move lower. When this state appears, stop using the support assumption and do not endlessly lower the so-called reliable support. Current data is insufficient to give a lower target price.

Scenario Two: Continuation Below the Range and Failed Breakout

If price continues below 4150–4155 and the subsequent rebound cannot recover back into the range, then observe weak continuation. This is a conditional scenario, not an instruction to sell at the level. Need to distinguish a single low quote, widened spread, and sustained price change.

The invalidation condition for the weak continuation assumption is: price recovers back above the lower-end zone and holds on subsequent retests, so the original inability to recover no longer holds. At that point, re-verify conditions rather than sticking to the old conclusion after a price rebound.

Upper Recovery Requires Clear Layers

When returning near the 4180–4185 historical reference, first check whether it truly recovers and holds, not treating proximity as standing firm. If it further reaches 4215–4220, a valid upper-end breakout still requires sustained break and retest evidence, and cannot be pre-confirmed by the current snapshot.

This article has not simultaneously verified the dollar, yields, and the full price path, so it does not claim cross-market direction is confirmed. When evidence is lacking, keep unknowns unknown; do not fabricate news reasons or new targets.

Execution and Update Principles

Research zones are not stop-loss prices guaranteed to fill, nor do they directly represent account risk amounts. Existing positions, pending orders, and fees should be checked separately; closing the terminal cannot replace order verification. Use your own actual platform records to compare requested and filled conditions.

When the market changes significantly, update the original article of the day and note the time and invalidation reason, then complete the translation, rather than repeatedly publishing articles in the same column. Leveraged trading can cause significant losses; this article is for research and education, does not constitute buy or sell instructions, and does not promise returns.
