October 12 Gold Strategy Observation: 4215–4220 Upper End and Pullback Invalidation Conditions

Based on the 09:23 Beijing time spot snapshot, observe both ends of the new range, distinguishing breakout holding, pullback absorption, and recovery failure; the old area is for historical reference only.

Monday morning price reached the upper half of the range shown in the new material. This article first records the quote and basis, then observes two scenarios: upper-end breakout and pullback absorption. The observation areas come from the displayed range; they are not guaranteed valid support and resistance, nor do they constitute a definite trade call.

Quote Basis: Snapshot at 09:23 Beijing Time

The Kitco article marks New York October 11 21:23 EDT, which is Beijing time October 12 09:23, with the top at 21:24; gold spot bid 4210.30, ask 4212.30 USD/oz, displayed range 4184.00–4218.10. Compared with the morning report at 08:58 bid 4206.40, the bid is 3.90 USD higher, but the two time points cannot reconstruct a complete price path.

This article uses the Kitco spot basis, not the tradable price of XAUUSD on every platform. Platform bid/ask sides, spreads, and server time must be checked separately. This article has not obtained sufficiently continuous charts and cannot confirm multiple support/resistance reactions based only on the displayed high and low values.

Observation Areas: New Range First, Old Levels for Reference

For the upper end, first observe 4215–4220, based on the range edge near the current displayed high of 4218.10; for the lower end, observe 4180–4185, based on the low near 4184.00. The two areas are only ranges convenient for testing subsequent reactions; they do not have a fixed success rate.

The weekend 4205–4210 can serve as a historical reference, but because the current price is nearby, it should not be assumed to have turned into reliable support. If the new material clearly changes, reassess the framework and do not continue mechanically applying the old range.

Scenario One: Upper-End Breakout and Retest Holding

If prices from the same source continue to move above 4215–4220, and the subsequent retest does not quickly fall back inside the range, then continue to observe for continuation. The timeframe and confirmation method should be determined first, and time records should be kept; a single wick or spread change should not be treated as a confirmed breakout.

The invalidation condition for this scenario is: after moving above, price continues to fall back below the area, and the subsequent rebound cannot regain and hold above it. When this state appears, stop applying the upper-end continuation assumption. The current material is insufficient to set a well-founded farther target; do not use round numbers or expectations to fabricate prices.

Scenario Two: Pullback Absorption and Recovery Failure

If price pulls back from near the upper end, first observe the reaction at the historical reference 4205–4210; if it moves further toward 4180–4185, then check whether sustainable absorption and position recovery appear. Touching only means observation begins; it does not mean buying at the price.

The invalidation condition for the absorption assumption is: price continues through the corresponding area, the retest recovery fails, and lows continue to move lower. If the lower end is also continuously crossed and the retest fails, the current range absorption framework should be reassessed as a whole; do not endlessly add so-called guaranteed support below.

Quotes and Execution: Do Not Merge Them Into the Same Condition

A research level is not a guaranteed execution stop-loss price, nor does it directly represent the account risk amount. When checking orders, use the actual platform quote and execution conditions, and record the request, fill time, and related fees. Without this information, do not treat prices from other sources as proof that you can definitely execute.

If different sources are inconsistent, keep their respective times and bases; do not simply average them and call it the true price. Existing positions and pending orders should be checked separately; closing the software does not mean order risk has ended.

Information Limits and Update Principles

This article has not simultaneously verified the US dollar index, Treasury yields, and the complete price path, so it does not claim they have confirmed a certain direction. Without reliable new information, do not guess that a certain weekend news item necessarily explains the current price change.

If neither scenario is met, judgment may be withheld. If the market clearly changes, update the original strategy for the day and note the time, reason for revision, and invalidation conditions, while also completing the translation, without additionally reposting the same column article. Leveraged trading may cause major losses; this article is for research and education, does not constitute a buy or sell instruction, and does not promise returns.
