October 22 Gold Morning Report Delayed Reissue: 16:15 Snapshot and Published Data

The originally scheduled 09:00 morning report is reissued late; using Kitco's Beijing time 16:15 bid price of USD 4,082.80 as the time anchor, review yesterday's U.S. weekly earnings report and today's remaining key observations.

The morning report originally scheduled for 09:00 Beijing time was not completed on time. This reissue is based on materials obtained later and does not pretend to be a pre-market observation: the quotes below are as of the New York October 22 04:15 EDT timestamp shown on the Kitco page, corresponding to Beijing time October 22 16:15. The morning has already passed, and readers should treat this article as a compilation of the day's information and observations for the remaining session, not as real-time advice at 09:00. Market prices change continuously; please check the latest quotes first when reading.

What the same-source snapshot shows

On the above page, at the headline timestamp, Kitco shows gold spot bid at 4,082.80 and ask at 4,084.80 USD per troy ounce, with a quote-day range of 4,066.10 to 4,145.30. Another place in the page body is marked 04:13 EDT, a two-minute difference from the top 04:15; this article uses the timestamp of the top price display and does not claim second-level precision. Yesterday at 09:30 Beijing time, the same-source bid was 4,116.30, a difference of negative 33.50 USD between the two snapshots. Today at 16:07, the same-source bid was 4,085.70, and the top reading eight minutes later was 2.90 USD lower. Discrete figures illustrate changes between comparison points; they cannot reconstruct the entire price action or prove the specific drivers of any particular move.

Kitco reference spot quotes are not the same as executable prices for XAUUSD on any trading platform. Buy/sell direction, spreads, contract specifications, and data refresh times may all differ. For review, keep records from the same source and time zone; do not stitch together decimal differences from different platforms into a so-called precise swing.

Published data does not equal an explanation of gold prices

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released the third-quarter usual weekly earnings report at 10:00 U.S. Eastern Time on October 21: median weekly earnings for full-time salaried workers were 1,232 USD, 1.5% higher than a year earlier; over the same period, the urban Consumer Price Index rose 3.5% year over year. This is the statistical scope given by the report; it is not a complete measure of nominal wages' purchasing power for every individual, and it certainly cannot be used to assert that today's gold decline was entirely caused by the wage data. Causal explanation also requires observing the dollar, yields, other news, and market expectations at the same time; the available snapshot is insufficient to complete attribution.

The BLS October release calendar does not list a comparable major monthly employment or inflation report for October 22; this does not mean there is no other agency data or breaking news throughout the day. The Federal Reserve public calendar lists the Federal Open Market Committee meeting on October 27-28; that meeting has not yet taken place, and any rate decision is expectation rather than fact.

What to watch in the remaining session

One type of observer will focus on whether there is a sustained recovery after the decline: whether prices re-enter the area previously lost, and whether the highs and lows of consecutive completed cycles improve. Another will focus on a retest of lows after consolidation at low levels: if new lows appear without recovery, the weak interpretation still stands. Both views require subsequent same-source quotes for verification; one should not automatically conclude that the trend has reversed or continued just because a single number matches expectations.

Today's strategy observation section has another article based on the 16:07 snapshot with two scenarios, specifically explaining candidate ranges and their invalidation conditions. The morning report does not repeat precise levels here. More important here is to record the information gap: yesterday 09:30, today 16:07, and 16:15 are not equally spaced samples, and range lows cannot replace every candlestick. To judge a real breakout, this platform's complete charts, bid/ask prices, and execution costs are still needed.

Record boundaries and risks

A reissued article cannot restore the information value of the missed 09:00. If new prices or official data are seen later, research should be updated according to the new time; historical snapshots must not be silently replaced. For holders, wider spreads, slippage, and leverage risk during rapid declines may be as important as directional judgment; for non-holders, staying on the sidelines when there is insufficient evidence is also a choice. This article is a compilation of verifiable materials as of 16:15 and does not constitute buy or sell advice for any specific account, nor does it promise returns.
