On Friday morning, gold still needs to find new evidence between inflation information and price absorption. PPI was released last night, and today there are import and export prices and the industrial production schedule. This article uses the 08:45 Beijing time reference quote to distinguish information that has already occurred from items still to be released, and does not package the morning snapshot as complete overnight closing statistics.

Morning Quote: Source Change and Two Snapshots Must Be Separated

The Kitco spot gold body text price time is New York October 15 20:45 EDT, corresponding to Beijing time October 16 08:45. Bid 4153.60, ask 4155.60 USD per troy ounce, page range 4099.20 to 4178.40; the top timestamp is 20:46, one minute different from the body text.

The page marks a decline of 16.20 USD, or 0.39%, from its comparison benchmark. Yesterday this site's evening record showed a 20:54 bid of 4145.40; the current snapshot is higher than that record. The two are not contradictory because the comparison starting points differ. This cannot be directly converted into any trading return achievable on any platform.

The page range is not the full-day high and low in Beijing time, and the reference spot price is also not equal to the actual execution price of XAUUSD on every platform. This article has not obtained the complete tick-by-tick path, so it does not claim to have verified all overnight turning points and the final close.

Overnight Core Information: PPI Brings a New Price Pressure Reading

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics announced on October 15 that the September final demand PPI rose 1.3% month over month on a seasonally adjusted basis and 6.3% year over year on an unadjusted basis. The measure excluding food, energy, and trade services rose 0.5% month over month and 5.0% year over year. These are already released data, not today's forecast values.

PPI reflects producer-side prices and cannot directly replace consumer prices or policy decisions. This article has not independently verified the market consensus and rate probabilities, so it does not use "certain rate hike" or "certain bearish for gold" as conclusions. Official data and how the market digests the data are two things that need to be recorded separately.

Bull-Bear Discussion: Constraints Remain, and Repair Also Needs Testing

A more cautious research scenario focuses on whether price pressure keeps interest rate constraints in place; another scenario focuses on whether gold can maintain absorption after the new information. This is listing testable explanations, not claiming to know trader positioning or fund flow surveys.

The current snapshot alone does not prove a trend reversal. If subsequent prices continue to advance, the repair can continue to be tested; if the rebound is difficult to sustain, the original absorption assumption needs to be reviewed. Both scenarios must be based on updated same-source data, rather than selecting only one quote that fits one's own view.

Tonight 20:30: Import and Export Prices

The official BLS calendar lists that on October 16 at 08:30 U.S. Eastern Time, the September import and export price indexes will be released, corresponding to tonight 20:30 Beijing time. When recording, distinguish the import and export categories, as well as monthly changes and annual changes, and do not look only at one headline number.

As of the writing of this article, this result has not yet been released. If later data or prior value revisions change the judgment, the original record should be kept and the update time noted; post-event explanations must not be written as results the morning report already knew.

Tonight 21:15: Industrial Production and Capacity Utilization

The Federal Reserve G.17 release page lists October 16 as the monthly release date, at 09:15 U.S. Eastern Time, which is 21:15 Beijing time. It provides production activity information different from price indicators and can serve as another observation tonight.

These two scheduled items are 45 minutes apart, and fluctuations before the latter release cannot be attributed to its not-yet-released result. Official schedules may change, and they should still be rechecked near the time. This article lists verified items, does not pretend to be a complete event list, and does not fill in unverified forecast numbers.

Friday Recording Focus: Make Judgments Reviewable

Before the data, save the bid and ask prices, time, and observation conditions from the same source; after the data, distinguish the first-round change from whether it can be sustained afterward. If comparing the dollar or yields, synchronized data should be separately verified, rather than inferring from the direction of gold how other markets must have changed.

Before entering the weekend, pay attention to specific platform trading sessions and position arrangements, but this article does not provide an unverified uniform closing time. The morning report is for market research and education and does not constitute definite buy or sell instructions.
