As of 21:02 Beijing time, the gold reference bid price is slightly higher than this site's morning snapshot, yet it remains in the lower half of the range shown on Kitco for its quote day. A short-term bounce and a full-day structural repair are not the same judgment. This article records the prices verified and observation conditions during the early U.S. session; the New York market has not yet closed, so subsequent price action cannot be written as today's final result.

Three price points from the same source

The Kitco spot gold page shows New York time 09:02 on October 22, corresponding to 21:02 Beijing time, with a bid price of 4,087.10 and an ask price of 4,089.10 USD per troy ounce. The page also notes that the benchmark time for the provided price is New York 09:00; the main text uses the page's quote time of 09:02 and notes the two-minute difference between these two times. The quote-day range currently shown by the source is 4,056.60 to 4,145.30 USD; the page lists a decline of 53.20 USD, or 1.28%, relative to its own benchmark. This percentage is not a Beijing-time calendar-day decline calculated by this site.

This site's 09:00 morning report was delayed due to an automated task delay; the Kitco bid price actually verified at 16:15 Beijing time was 4,082.80. The 09:30 strategy observation was likewise delayed; the bid price actually verified at 16:07 was 4,085.70. The evening bid price is 4.30 USD higher than at 16:15 and 1.40 USD higher than at 16:07. Three discrete snapshots cannot reconstruct every intervening segment of price action, nor can they prove that prices rose continuously. In particular, the titles of the two articles correspond to their originally planned publication times; quotes must be based on the actual times stated in the body text.

This morning's candidate zones, and how to re-check them in the evening

At 16:07, the strategy observation listed 4,060 to 4,070 as the lower observation band and 4,080 to 4,090 as the rebound test band. Kitco's current bid price of 4,087.10 is inside the latter; its quote-day low of 4,056.60 is below the lower edge of the former. This only indicates that the source recorded a lower price within its quote-day window, while the evening single point has returned to the test band. Without verifying complete intraday candlesticks and time spent at levels, it cannot be written as "support confirmed" or "breakout successful."

Going forward, only if completed observation periods can sustain above 4,090 and gradually recover higher prior swing highs does the rebound scenario merit continued tracking; if price falls back below 4,080, especially if it approaches or breaks the source low, the repair interpretation should be withdrawn. These two conditions are not trading instructions; with different quote sources, platform spreads, and selected timeframes, trigger points may also differ.

Tonight's market information and diverging views

Among materials verifiable as of publication, the next regular meeting of the U.S. Federal Open Market Committee is scheduled for October 27-28; therefore the debate over the rate path remains a future scenario, not a published decision of this meeting. The Kitco page data showing a decline relative to its own benchmark allows discussion of weaker performance; the evening rebound relative to the afternoon snapshot also suggests that sellers are not dominant at every point in time. Both observations can hold simultaneously; a single news headline cannot be used to attribute this segment of price change.

A more cautious view focuses on whether the quote-day low will be tested again and whether the rebound will be blocked near 4,090. A more positive view focuses on whether price can continue to move away from the lows and form higher completed-period highs and lows. What is described here are testable, differing conditions and does not represent verified institutional consensus or positioning data. If new changes appear in the U.S. dollar, Treasury yields, or subsequent macroeconomic news, publication times and market reactions must be re-checked; information that occurs later cannot be written back into this article.

Records to keep for the next session and tomorrow morning

Keep the source, the 09:02 New York quote time, the bid and ask prices, the quote-day range, and the two same-source snapshots at 16:07 and 16:15. Next, observe whether there can be completed-period confirmation above 4,090; if price only briefly touches it and then retreats into the range, the earlier repair judgment should be given less weight. Tomorrow morning, take fresh real-time prices and a new quote-day range again, then decide which candidate bands remain valid, rather than mechanically carrying over today's numbers.

Kitco news quotes may differ from the XAUUSD contract price, spreads, and slippage on individual trading platforms; this site has not used these snapshots to back-calculate actual executable returns.
