October 6 Evening Review: Range Expands, Minutes Timing Needs to Be Checked Against Beijing Time
Record the gold quote and range changes around 21:00, distinguish between the trade data release schedule and confirmed results, and focus on the meeting minutes in the early hours of October 8 Beijing time.

Compilation time: around 21:05 Beijing time. This article reviews information available as of verification; it is not the final closing report for the day. The price unit is USD/oz; unconfirmed economic data results and trend details are not filled in by speculation.
Evening quote: the page range has already expanded
FXEmpire shows a gold quote of 4168.76, marked at 13:03 UTC on October 6, corresponding to 21:03 Beijing time. An earlier Kitco snapshot notes 09:00 EDT on October 6 in New York, i.e. 21:00 Beijing time: spot gold bid 4169.20, ask 4171.20, with the page's intraday low at 4105.50 and high at 4180.50.
At this time, Kitco shows a high-low span of 75.00 USD/oz, and the quote is still within that page's range. This is the data provider's session convention; it does not mean that all XAUUSD platforms showed the same prices. Snapshots from different sources and times cannot be directly stitched into a complete minute chart, much less can the quote difference between two providers be used to calculate precise gains or losses.
Compared with the morning, which judgments need to be rechecked
The Kitco snapshot bid used in today's 9:30 strategy observation was 4140.30, with the displayed range from 4122.60 to 4171.40; the current snapshot bid is higher, and both the upper and lower edges of the displayed range have also changed. Therefore, the observation areas organized around 4120 to 4125 and 4170 to 4175 in the morning need to be reassessed based on the latest information.
However, snapshots at only two time points are not enough to confirm when the price crossed a certain area, whether it stayed there continuously, or whether a retest held. The review therefore cannot claim that a certain scenario was precisely hit, nor should it write price changes as profits already realized in trading. For parts lacking continuous records, the label "not yet confirmed" should be retained.
Disagreement during the day: pressure factors and rate expectations coexist
Reuters reported earlier today, listing a stronger dollar and elevated U.S. Treasury yields as pressures facing gold, while also noting that cooling rate-hike expectations this month limited the decline. This narrative explains the market background seen in the reporting at that time and cannot be directly used to attribute every later rise or pullback.
One analytical scenario is that the dollar and real interest rate performance may limit a rebound; another scenario is that changes in policy expectations and other demand factors may provide support. Both can exist at the same time. If later prices are inconsistent with a certain narrative, facts should first be rechecked, rather than ignoring the market in order to defend a view. This article does not fill in unverified real-time dollar index or yield figures.
Trade data: release schedule and actual results must be separated
The New York Fed calendar lists the October 6 trade balance at 08:30 U.S. Eastern Time, which converted according to daylight saving time that day is 20:30 Beijing time. Therefore, at the time of this compilation, the scheduled release time had already passed, and it can no longer be called an event still pending tonight.
However, this verification has not yet obtained a confirmable latest actual value. This article does not use figures from previous months as a substitute, nor does it present market forecasts as results. This does not mean the data definitely was not released. When supplementing later, the reporting month, goods and services basis, prior-value revisions, and release time should be checked, and then the reaction assessed together with market records.
The same-day calendar lists the Global Supply Chain Pressure Index at 10:00 U.S. Eastern Time, corresponding to 22:00 Beijing time. As of this compilation, that arrangement is still later, and specifics are subject to institutional updates. A single indicator cannot be directly converted into an inevitable direction for gold.
Tomorrow's focus: the meeting minutes time crosses past Beijing time midnight
The Federal Reserve's official October calendar schedules the release of the September 15-16 meeting minutes at 14:00 U.S. Eastern Time on October 7, which converts to 02:00 Beijing time on October 8. On the U.S. calendar it belongs to tomorrow, but it is not content already released on the afternoon or evening of October 7 Beijing time.
When observing, a distinction should be made between the record of that meeting and a new policy decision. The minutes can supplement understanding of the discussion process, but they cannot replace the actual decision of the next meeting. Recheck the schedule before tomorrow begins; if there are adjustments, official notices shall prevail, and unpublished wording should not be written in advance.
Closing record: keep the evidence, not just the conclusion
Record together the price source, quote time, observation period, whether conditions occurred, and reasons for invalidation. If a new session extreme appears, the original strategy article should be updated with the time noted, rather than using multiple contradictory new posts to obscure changes in judgment. At the account level, existing positions, fees, and actual orders should also be checked, especially whether EA operation and manual operations are consistent.
Leveraged trading may cause significant losses. This article is for market recording and research, does not constitute buy or sell instructions, and does not promise returns; market snapshots, data limitations, and observation scenarios need to be updated as new information emerges.
